Literature isn't a moral beauty contest. Instead, its power arises from the authority and audacity with which the impersonation is pulled off; the belief it inspires is what counts.
Philip Roth

Have you ever taken part in literary contests? If not, it is something to think about. There are much more benefits to participating in contests and competitions than meet the eye.

It is not difficult to imagine that when a writer finishes his work or a musician records his music, one of the first ideas that come to their minds would be the possibility of submitting it to a contest. That would be one of the many ways to help them promote and publicize their work.

It is, of course, a good idea: Because winning a contest can help you create a different resume, allowing you to be published and known by a bigger audience. Unusually, some competitions may even provide you with some financial rewards.

But, as always, participating in literary competitions is not the only option. Therefore, it is advisable to carefully weigh all the possibilities before deciding what to do with your creation (books, etc.).

Participating in literary contests can bring new perspectives on your stories and new opportunities in your career.

It is a very strategic way to get to know more influential people in the business, open new doors in your industry, and let them know you better. And even if you are not chosen for the Award, it is always an excellent way to improve yourself and make your name known. In addition, you can benefit immensely by associating with other people aligned with your vision.

Contests also take you out of your comfort zone, but they may help you assess the impact of your creations (stories) outside your head. You may learn to practice, and develop the discipline to write, record, and create since you always must obey the deadline. You may also find a concrete motivation to not give up and understand how to deal with rejection if you are not chosen and do not receive the Award.

Competition and Promotions

Besides, these competitions offer the opportunity to have the quality of your stories assessed against other writers who are producing through a qualified jury. And there is always the chance that a publisher or literary agent will come in contact with your work.

We must not forget that there is still the possibility of a financial advantage, as in many cases, the prize money and/or publication of the work that was given to the competition takes place.

Some traditional literary contests in the country annually but remember that others may appear in your particular region or internationally.

With the creation of Conscious Lifestyle and literary awards, “The Ommie awards” honor outstanding personalities in the Spiritually Conscious and cultural scene and simultaneously promote and encourage literary creations in various genres in English, thus welcoming new authors and expanding their editorial offer.
