 Liane's Bio

Liane Q. Buck is a Board member and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Humanity Healing International, the COO of Cathedral of the Soul, a Board member of Saint Lazarus Relief Fund, and Vice-President of the Royal Society of Saint George – California.

As a young adult, Liane worked for the Jesuit Priests from CEAS (a Non-Profit organization) as an Economist and Project Manager developing Humanitarian and Social projects to raise the standard of living among the poor. In addition, Liane has been a volunteer Death Row Minister for the California Penal System.

She has worked extensively with many groups and with the prison reform movement.

In 2007, Liane co-founded Humanity Healing Network with her husband Christopher, which evolved into Humanity Healing International, a 501(c)3 public charity best known for rescuing children with albinism in sub-Saharan Africa from human traffickers who sell them for human sacrifice.

Other projects include the Pads For Schoolgirls project, which helps girls stay in school after they become young women, teaches them a marketable vocational skill, and promotes community service through the sharing of the reusable pads they have made with other girls to help them stay in school; the Riverside Project in Nepal, which offered education to “second daughters,” in a region that does not guarantee their right to an education. Home and vocational training for women in Pakistan who are victims of acid-throwing and other severe forms of extreme violence against women.

As ordained ministers, Liane and Christopher’s outreaches through Cathedral of the Soul include Prison Ministry with an emphasis on reconciliation and conflict resolution, the development of resource guides for developing the Gifts of Compassion in children in grades K-2, and a course in Visionary Leadership for Youth.

Liane’s Honors include the President’s Call to Service Award signed by President Obama in 2012, Knighthood with the Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem and Chevalier in the Order of Saint Michael of the Wing of the Royal House of Braganza in Portugal. In addition, in 2021, Liane received the Lifetime Achievement Award In Community Service from President Joe Biden.
